Winter meeting at Hatton Village Hall, Birmingham Road, Warwick CV35 7LR.
10.30am for 11.00am. Please bring a contribution for the lunch table.
Ann Williams has invited Terry (Rumps Butchers in Warwick) as guest speaker. He is keen to do the talk and meet Dexter breeders, so it would be great if as many of you as possible could please support the meeting. As a butcher he will certainly be talking about what the butcher looks for in their carcass and I am sure members will have the opportunity to ask him questions. A meeting which could be of benefit to all those members who market their beef.
DIRECTIONS: Hatton Village Hall is on the A4177 north of Warwick. Approaching on the M40 leave at Junction 15 and take the A46 towards Coventry, Take your first exit off the A46 and take a left onto the A4177(signposted Solihull). Go straight over the traffic lights. At the island go straight on, continue past The Waterman Pub on your left. A little further on you will see a church on your left. Approx 300 yards past the church you will need to turn right at the cross roads and into Hatton Village Hall car park.
From Coventry follow A46 to Warwick, come off at junction with A425/A4177 and follow directions above.

Linear Assessment Day at Stratford Livestock Centre was an ideal venue for the event. There was a good selection of animals forward and a fascinating day was had by all. After the classifications had been completed, we were given the opportunity of making our own judgements which were pretty accurate most of the time. I am sure everyone returned home to look at their own animals, I know we did!! It certainly made us all think about the future breed standard.
I’m sure we will hear a lot more about Linear Assessment. It would certainly be worth taking every opportunity to attend meetings on the subject. Thank you to Mike for organising the day and everyone else who attended with or without their cattle.

Autumn Social - a most enjoyable evening was had by all at The New Inn, Main Street, Willersey. Gordon Taylor’s team were worthy winners. The ‘killer’ at the end was won by Pete Lancaster and he was presented with a bottle of wine he had given as a prize for the winner!
It was lovely to see that Gill Lancaster was able to join us and also Sue Bancroft and Les Digweed, both with their legs in plaster. Sue and Les have now had their plaster casts removed and are more mobile.
Thank you to Abbie and Les for organising the evening and to all members who supported a great evening.
